Hannes Bajohr [ˈhʌnəs bʌˈjɔː] was born 1984 in Berlin. He lives in Basel und Berlin. Bajohr studied philosophy, German literature, and modern history at Berlin’s Humboldt University, and received his PhD from Columbia University, New York, with a dissertation on philosopher Hans Blumenberg’s theory of language. Together with Simon Roloff, he currently directs the VW Foundation research project “understanding/code” at Basel University, Switzerland.

Bajohr writes literary and academic texts; his research focuses on media studies, political philosophy, philosophical anthropology, and theories of the digital.
